Game Tournament Guidelines

Thank you for sharing your passion for Bandai Namco Entertainment Co., Ltd.’s (“BNEI”) game, ONE PIECE Bounty Rush (“Game”). BNEI cares about the community and would like to support individuals who want to share their passion of the Game by organizing community tournaments. At the same time, we want to ensure that fans who are doing so are engaging in the Game in a way that positively supports other players by providing a safe, welcoming, and engaging experience for all players.

To achieve the goal stated above, we have created guidelines for players hosting tournaments for the Game. Before you arrange and hold a tournament for the Game, please familiarize yourself with these guidelines.

■Types of Tournaments That May Be Held

・You may not falsely imply BNEI is associated with, sponsoring or otherwise affiliated with the event, nor can you present it as an “official” tournament or “endorsed” by BNEI.

・A disclaimer provided below must be included on all tournament-related pages and promotional materials. Disclaimer: This tournament is in no way sponsored or affiliated with Bandai Namco Entertainment Co., Ltd. and, the tournament is being managed and operated by volunteers and is not an official tournament. Furthermore, if the tournament contains content from any third parties unaffiliated with the Game (including but not limited to, character designs, certain songs, background music, etc.), such content may require separate permissions from such rights holders, and Bandai Namco Entertainment Co., Ltd. will not reply to any inquiries regarding such permissions.

■Applicable Rules When Hosting or Participating in Tournaments

Tournaments may be operated provided that these rules are followed:

○Tournaments must not be for commercial profit

・Collection of entry fees, spectator fees, or any other payment to participate in the tournament is prohibited.

・When hosting a tournament, organizers may not receive goods, services, money, etc., from third parties as sponsors.

・If the tournament involves live commentary or similar activities, any rules for such activities will be superseded by BNEI’s video policy.

○Materials subject to use restrictions

・The name of the tournament may not contain any BNEI trademarks or IP, such as BNEI’s or any of its affiliates company, logo, product or service name such as the Game title. This includes any shortened or modified use of BNEI’s trademarks or IP.

・Other than referencing the game name to indicate which game is being played at the tournament, the tournament may not use any of BNEI’s trademarks or IP, including logos and character art as part of the tournament activity.

・References made to indicate which game is being played at the tournament may not be in such a way that would damage its brand, image, reputation, or value.

○Stipulation and Prohibited Acts

・Organizers are responsible for ensuring that the tournament complies with all applicable laws, including, but not limited to, protection of personal information for participants and spectators and appropriate parental consent for minors.

・Organizers and participants may not engage in any acts that infringe upon the rights of BNEI or any third party, including ownership rights, IP rights or any other rights.

・Organizers shall make full efforts to create a tournament that is friendly and welcoming to all, and will not tolerate harassment or discrimination of any kind, including based on race, ethnicity, nationality, ideology, religion, belief, origin, social status, class, occupation, sex, age, disability, sexual orientation, gender identity, or marital status.

・The tournament shall not permit gambling or the use of alcohol or drugs or allow possession of weapons or other illegal items at the tournament.

・Any other actions that may be deemed inappropriate or negatively affect BNEI or its affiliates.

■Other Precautions

・These guidelines do not serve as a guarantee of any from BNEI to any individual or organization.

・These guidelines are not intended to transfer any IP rights related to BNEI's games or services.

・BNEI reserves the right to take legal action, including making requests for cancellation, against any tournament it determines to be in violation of these guidelines in any form or manner.

・BNEI is not liable for any incidents or issues that may occur during the preparation for, or management of, any tournament.

・BNEI reserves the right to amend these guidelines at its sole discretion, and any tournaments held after such amendments will be subject to the updated version.

FAQ

Q: Can a corporation host a tournament?
A: Yes, corporations are allowed to host tournaments as long as such tournaments follow these guidelines.
Q: Can prizes be offered to participants or winners?
A: Yes, you may offer prizes. However, cash, gift certificates or other monetary items, items with a total value exceeding 100,000 JPY (approx. 660 USD), or any of the following items specified by BNEI may not be offered as prizes.

Prohibited items and services include, but are not limited to: ・Any items or services that violate the ONE PIECE Bounty Rush Terms of Service. ・Alcohol products. ・Drugs. ・Any items or services that are illegal, inappropriate, or offensive.
Q: If the tournament is viewable via live video, are there any issues with obtaining revenues from advertising, etc.?
A: Please refrain from for-profit streaming. However, functions officially provided as part of digital hosting platforms (for example, Youtube's Partner Program and Super Chat function) are not considered to fall under for-profit even if these functions generate additional revenue, and as such they may be used without issue. Q: Is it possible to confirm whether a planned event is in compliance with these guidelines?
A: BNEI is unable to respond to individual inquiries regarding whether any individual event is in compliance with these guidelines or any other relevant laws and regulations.
